Description

This is an outbuilding located approximately 5 metres to the northwest of Lower Farmhouse, likely dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed from roughly squared and coursed yellow-grey sandstone, with some timber framing and plastered infill panels, topped with a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and features a parapeted gable end to the south, which includes an integral stone and brick stack.

On the east front, there are external stone steps leading up to a central boarded loft door. To the right, there is a lean-to with a boarded opening; however, the lean-to's plain tile roof has been mostly dismantled and replaced with a lower corrugated iron roof. The right-hand gable end, which faces the road, displays exposed timber framing. The interior has not been inspected, but it is possible that this building was formerly used as a brew house. This outbuilding is part of an early 18th-century farmstead group that includes the farmhouse and a barn.
