Description
This is a farm outbuilding located to the northwest of Ash Lane Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble coal measures sandstone and features a 20th-century corrugated sheet roof. The building has a T-plan layout, with an overloft in the cross wing at the north end, which has a weather-boarded gable and a full-width opening below. The axial wing includes two feeding troughs on the east side, with projecting semi-circular stone feed shelves beneath brick arched heads. There are also two stable doors in plain openings. The outbuilding is listed for its group value with the farmhouse.
