Description
Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble coal measures sandstone, featuring ashlar dressings and quoins. The east side has a stone gable stack and a coped gable with moulded kneelers, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has four bays. The off-centre doorway has a quoined surround and a massive lintel, leading to a 20th-century half-glazed door. The ground and first floors have 2-light flush mullioned windows, except for the window to the west of the doorway, which has been changed to a casement under a wide inserted lintel. Above the doorway is a 18th-century mullioned and transomed window. There is also an inserted doorway at the west end, where the farmhouse connects to a farm outbuilding.
