Description
Troway Hall Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse constructed from coursed rubble coal measures sandstone, featuring quoins, a brick ridge stack, and a combination of stone and Welsh slates for the roof. The building has a double pile plan and a two-storey, double-gabled front on the south-west elevation, which consists of three bays. The off-centre doorway is framed by a boldly quoined surround and a massive lintel that displays a quoin motif in relief, along with a central projection that resembles a protruding keyblock. On either side of the doorway are 4-light chamfer mullioned windows, all beneath a continuous dripmould that steps up to form a hoodmould above the doorway. Additionally, there are three 3-light chamfer mullioned windows below another continuous dripmould. The interior has been significantly altered but retains one massive segmentally-arched hearth in the south-east range.
