Description
Two adjoining barns located approximately 18 metres south-east of Notehouse. The first barn is from the 17th century and is timber-framed with a sandstone plinth, featuring part woven cleft oak infill and part weatherboard cladding. The second barn, dating from the 18th century or early 19th century, is constructed from sandstone rubble and has been altered. The 17th-century barn consists of three framed bays with collar and tie-beam trusses, three struts to the collar, and V-struts in the gable. Its roof extends southward to connect with the later stone barn, which also has three bays and a central threshing floor, a raised roof-line, and two rows of vents flanking the opening. The barns are included for their group value.
