5/3 Two adjoining barns approximately 30 m south- west of Court Farmhouse

GV II

Two adjoining barns. Late C17 or early C18 barn aligned north-west/south- east with later C18 adjoining barn aligned south-west/north-east. Timber- framed with sandstone rubble plinths, part weatherboarded and part woven infill to earlier barn with tiled roof; later barn has part brick infill and part weatherboard and part corrugated metal cladding with similar corrugated metal roof. Barns form an L to the south and west of the fold- yard, four bays to earlier barn with threshing floor entrance to south of centre; inclined strut trusses, square panelled timber-framing of four square panels from sill to wall-plate. Later barn also of four bays with two doorways; similar square panelled framing and irregular inclined strut trusses, using light scantling.
