Description

A barn, likely constructed in the 18th century, with possible reuse of older timbers and some 20th-century alterations. The barn is timber-framed and has been clad in weatherboarding, standing on a sandstone plinth which has been partially replaced with breeze blocks. The roof is hipped and tiled. The arrangement suggests two separate barns, each of two bays, with two upright posts in the centre on each side. The barn features jowled posts, likely dating to the 17th century, a mid-rail, and some curved tension braces and 18th-century diagonal tension braces. The roof structure includes a tie beam, collar beam, and through purlins. The barn is included on the heritage register primarily for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
