Description
Bassetts Old Barn is a barn dating from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and restoration in the 20th century. It is timber-framed and stands on a plinth made of sandstone and brick, although the cladding was removed at the time of the survey. The barn has a peg-tiled roof and consists of four bays, featuring a midrail, vertical struts, and some curved tension braces. Inside, there are jowled posts, a tie beam, and a queen post roof with a collar beam and through purlins. The roof appears to have been renewed in the 18th century.
