Description

Oak Tree Barn is a barn dating from the late 16th century to the early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, standing on a brick plinth. The roof is made of corrugated iron and is hipped over a central midstrey. To the right of the midstrey is a lean-to built with similar materials. The barn features double doors at the midstrey and a vertically boarded door for the lean-to. It has five bays, a queen strut roof, jowled storey posts, and halved and bladed scarf joints at the top plates. The internal walls have 20th-century boarding. This barn is considered a good example of its type.
