Description

Grove House is a house dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, although it likely incorporates an earlier structure. It is timber framed with panelled plaster walls and has a hipped roof covered in grey slate. The house is arranged in an L-shape with a projecting wing on the right. A moulded eaves cornice with brackets runs around the building. There are two red brick chimney stacks on the right side. The house has two storeys, and the main facade has a 3:1 window arrangement on the first floor and a 2:1 arrangement on the ground floor, all with small-paned vertically sliding sash windows; the ground floor windows have pentice boards above them. A door on the right side of the rear range has two panels, two lights, pilasters with moulded capitals, a moulded pediment, and a frieze. Attached hoop railings lead to the forecourt, featuring anthemion finials on the gate posts.
