Description
19 and 21 Potter Street is a house that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the early 17th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions, including a brick facade from the early 19th century. The building is timber framed with a painted brick facade and features a dentilled eaves cornice. The returns are weatherboarded, and there is a single-storey plastered extension on the right. The roofs are covered with red plain tiles, and there are two red brick chimney stacks: one on the left is external, while the one on the right is original and has four octagonal shafts. The building has two storeys and a two-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes, with a similar window in the right extension. The central entrance features a recessed, four-panelled two-light door with moulded pilasters that have capitals and bases, topped with an open pediment. There is also a half-glazed door on the right return, which has a flat canopy supported by moulded brackets.
