Description
No. 23 Potter Street is a house that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with later alterations and an addition from the 18th or 19th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof. It features red brick chimney stacks on both the right and left sides. The house has two storeys and a three-window range of vertically sliding sashes with glazing bars. The central entrance consists of a two-panelled four-light door, flanked by plain pilasters, with a moulded frieze and double moulded brackets supporting the canopy. To the left of the house is a two-storey brick outbuilding with a forward gable, which is part plastered and part painted, and has a red tiled roof. This outbuilding is of 17th century origin and is noted for its group value with the main house.
