Description

These are three cottages situated on Potter Street in Sible Hedingham. They likely date to the 18th century or earlier, though they have undergone alterations and additions since their original construction. The cottages are timber-framed and plastered with a two-level red tiled roof. A single-storey extension with a red pantiled roof projects to the right. A red brick chimney stack is located on the right side of No. 27. The facade has a four-window range of small-paned, vertically sliding sash windows. The left-hand cottage has a door with six panels, a moulded surround, a moulded frieze, and an open pediment. The central cottage features a vertically boarded door with a pentice board above. The right-hand cottage has a vertically boarded door with a light above, and the pentice board continues over the adjacent window. A plastered extension to the right has double vertically boarded doors.
