Description
Moreton Grange is a barn that likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, featuring a corrugated iron roof and a squared stone plinth, with some sections renewed in red brick. The barn has five bays and includes a central gabled midstrey with double doors, a lean-to on the left side, and an additional entrance at the rear.
Inside, the barn showcases square-panel framing with jowled posts. The roof consists of a five-bay tie-beam truss with double purlins, angle struts supporting the lower purlins, collars for the upper purlins, and clasped rafters. There is some replacement timber at the entrances, and the side walls of the threshing floor are made of brick.
