Description
The Thatchings is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, which has been extensively altered in the 20th century. It features a timber frame on a sandstone plinth, with painted brick infill and a brick addition from the 20th century, all topped with a thatched roof. There is also a further 20th-century brick addition with a Welsh slate roof. The original house consists of two framed bays aligned east to west, flanked by later additions, and includes a gable-end stack on the east side. The entrance is located in the western addition. The original structure is a single storey with an attic, featuring two eyebrow dormers with 2-light casement windows. On the ground floor, there are three 2-light casement windows and one 4-pane window, while the east extension has one 2-light casement window and two similar windows under the slate roof. The west extension has a 20th-century window and door.
