Description
The Old Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, with 20th-century alterations and additions. It is timber-framed on a sandstone plinth, featuring painted brick infill and weatherboard cladding on the later additions, topped with a thatched roof. The house has two framed bays facing south-west, with a gable-end stack on the north-west side and additional structures to the west of the south-west front and the south-east gable end. It is a single storey with an attic, featuring a 5-light leaded casement window in an eyebrow dormer to the right of centre, two 2-light leaded casements on the ground floor, and another 2-light leaded casement window in the extension to the left. The timber-framing is composed of three square panels, and there is a 20th-century door and entrance at the rear.
