Description
Court Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse built from dressed sandstone, featuring an ashlar plinth and a brick modillion eaves course. It has a slate half-hipped roof and two brick axial stacks located behind the ridge. The building has a double-depth plan, with principal front rooms on either side of a central entrance and service rooms at the rear, including an outshut to the rear left.
The exterior is two storeys high, with an attic and cellar. The symmetrical southeast front has three bays, each with 16-pane sash windows that have finely cut stone flat arches and stone cills. The central doorway features a flush-panel door with glazed top panels and an open porch that has a slate hipped canopy supported by slim cast-iron columns.
At the rear, on the northwest side, there are three 3-light casements with glazing bars on the first floor, which have cambered stone arches above them. There is also a central doorway and a single-storey outshut on the right, which has a brick chimney against the side of the house. A small gabled dormer is located at the centre of the roof. The side elevations include additional sash windows and casements. The interior has not been inspected.
