Description

Amber Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings and quoins. It features a shallow plinth and eaves cornice below low parapets. The roof is largely of C20 concrete tiles, with a slate roof to the north wing. Brick side wall stacks indicate fireplaces. The building is three storeys high, with recessed two-storey single-bay side wings. It has five bays in total. The central doorway is framed by a Doric doorcase topped with a broken pediment, above which is a semi-circular fanlight with traceried glazing over a glazed and panelled door. The windows are glazing bar sashes, with depressed arched tops featuring stepped radiating voussoirs in the central section. Side wings have similar sashes with skewback lintels and projecting keystones. Above, there are three similar sashes to those below in the central section. Single sashes matching those below are present in the side wings above the ground floor. The uppermost level in the central block features three glazing bar sashes with skewback lintels, incised voussoirs, and keystones.
