Description
The cow-house, located south east of Court Farmhouse, dates from around the early 19th century and was later extended in the 19th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and red brick nogging, set on a tall stone rubble and brick plinth. The roof is covered with clay plain tiles and features gabled ends. The building has a rectangular plan with a later 19th-century outshut at the rear.
It stands two storeys high, with a stone ground storey that includes a central doorway and windows on either side. Above, there are four small windows and one additional opening to the right of the centre, positioned below the eaves. The south east gable end is reinforced with long tension-braces at the corners, and it has a doorway on the ground floor along with a loft doorway above. The rear features a brick outshut. Inside, there is a four-bay king-post roof.
