Description

CANON PYON CP - SO 44 NE 5/20 Barn and attached store about 30 yards north-west 26.8.87 of Shire Glat Farmhouse - II Barn and store. Probably late C17 to early C18 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble plinth and timber-frame with brick and woven infill. Corrugated iron and Welsh slate roofs. Rectangular five-bay barn aligned east/west with store at east end. North elevation of barn has deep plinth, central opposed entry with two-leaved ledged doors. Square framing, three panels high with woven infill to top row of panels and crucifom vent open- ings in nogging of central panels. Store to left has minimal plinth and similar framing to that of barn and is thus considerably lower. Central loft opening and two ledged two-leaved doors. Interior of barn has trusses with triple angle struts. Shire Glat Farmhouse is not included in this list. (RCHM, Vol II, p 48).
