Description

41 and 43 Bargates are two houses built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of stucco with a plain tile roof and feature brick stacks at the front. The buildings are two storeys high, with an attic and cellar, and present a three-window range. The windows include 12/12 sliding sashes set in beaded cases with lined reveals. There is a central dormer, likely from the early 19th century, featuring a three-light casement, along with a 19th-century dormer that has a two-light casement. The central sliding sash window is flanked by matching entrances, which have half-glazed panelled doors beneath simple flat hoods supported by paired brackets. To the left of the entrance is a 16/16 sliding sash window, while to the right is a 20th-century casement window. At the rear, there is a wing with a hipped plain tile roof and two brick stacks. The interiors have not been inspected.
