Description

The Greyhound Public House is an inn from the early 19th century located on Rainbow Street in Leominster. It features a painted brick exterior and a Welsh slate roof, with a brick stack at the right end and another at the rear. The building has three storeys and a cellar, with a two-window range on the front. The windows include 6/6 sashes and a central blind opening, all under grooved and stepped stucco lintels with keyblocks. There are also 3/3 sashes and another blind opening, which are similarly treated with lintels. The eaves are moulded wood.

The central entrance consists of 8-panel double doors that are recessed beneath an entablature with guttae, supported by wooden pilasters. Flanking the entrance are two 6/6 sashes under matching lintels. To the left of the entrance, there are two 6/6 sashes, likely for assembly rooms, set in shouldered moulded stucco architraves. Above these, a stucco cornice leads to a brick parapet. To the left, there are plank double doors beneath a moulded stucco arch with a keyblock, which connects to a similar arch over an altered opening that now has a 20th-century tripartite window with a central 6/6 sash.

The right side and rear of the building are roughcast, featuring brick modillion eaves and 6/6 and 3/3 sashes in moulded cases. There is also a 4-panel door with a barred overlight, situated beneath a simple wood hood. A wing at the rear includes stone steps leading to the first floor, brick modillion eaves, and a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
