Description
Snowdale Cottages are two cottages dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. They are constructed from timber-frame with brick infill, sitting on a sandstone rubble plinth, and feature a steep-pitched slate roof. The right side has a stack and a rendered stack base with a 20th-century brick chimney at the rear. The cottages have a three-bay plan and are single storey with an attic. The central entrance has a plank door set in a 20th-century brick gable porch, flanked by two 19th-century two-light casements under simple wooden hoods. There are also two 20th-century semi-dormers with 2-light metal casements. To the right, there is another door and a 20th-century three-light casement in the rendered section, with a similar two-light casement above. The left side features a part-blocked 18th-century casement and a 19th-century casement at the gable. At the rear, there is a plank door. Inside, the cottages have a deep-chamfered ceiling-frame and exposed timber-framing.
