Description
Cholstrey Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with later enlargement in the 18th century and additional alterations. The building is constructed of stone rubble, timber-frame, and brick, topped with a plain tile roof featuring two gables facing the road. It has a brick lateral stack on a rubble base to the right and a brick ridge stack to the left. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a two-window range, with 19th-century three-light casements to the right, which are positioned under a simple hood. The entrance is located at the centre and features a 19th-century four-panel door with a barred overlight, set in a beaded frame and covered by a simple 20th-century hood. To the left of the entrance is another 19th-century three-light casement, while to the right is a 20th-century four-light casement.
On the right side of the building, there is 20th-century brickwork and a brick outshut, along with a massive stone stack base that supports a brick chimney. The left side also features 20th-century masonry and two three-light casements. The rear of the farmhouse includes 18th and 19th-century casements, as well as an 18th-century plank door with a barred overlight. Inside, there is a 17th-century stone fireplace and a straight flight staircase with stick balusters.
