Description

Manor Cottage is a house dating back to the 15th century, significantly remodelled in the 17th century, with further alterations in the early 19th century and late 20th century. The house is timber-framed, with painted brick and rendered infill between the timbers, set on a painted rubble plinth and covered by a tile roof. It comprises three bays extending east to west, featuring a gable-end stack on the west side and a 20th-century extension to the south. The north front has two storeys, with two pairs of single-light casement windows on the right-hand side. The ground floor incorporates three two-light casement windows, with an entrance in the centre, accessed via a 20th-century half-glazed porch and a glazed door. The timber framing is arranged in three square panels, raised by a further panel in the 19th century. A cruck truss is visible within the east gable, although no other cruck trusses are evident inside the house.
