Description
Yew Tree Farmhouse and the attached barn are a farmhouse and barn dating from the 17th century, with some early 19th century and late 20th century alterations. The structure features a timber frame with painted brick and rendered infill set on a coursed rubble plinth, topped with a machine-tile roof. The barn has a corrugated iron roof and is partially covered with weatherboarding. The house is arranged in three framed bays and is aligned east to west, with the three-bay barn located to the west.
The south front of the house has one storey with an attic, which is illuminated by two framed gables on the right and two 2-light casement windows under the eaves on the left. The ground floor contains two 3-light casement windows. The central entrance features a triangular canopy and a 19th century ledged and boarded door. The barn to the left has weatherboarding across the entrance to the threshing floor. The framing consists of three square panels high, with the house displaying straight angle braces. The gable-end truss includes two struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex.
