Description
The Hollies is a house dating from the 17th century, with a mid-19th century extension and some restoration from the mid-20th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick and rendered infill on a painted rubble plinth, extended in painted rubble, all beneath a tile roof. The building has three framed bays that are aligned east to west, with gable-end stacks; one stack is integral to the left side, while the right stack is external and partially enclosed by the 19th century extension, made of rubble with a brick shaft.
The north front has two storeys and includes three windows, all of which are 2-light casements. On the ground floor, there is a canted bay window on the left and a canted oriel window on the right. The central entrance is approached by a short flight of steps and features a lean-to canopy above a ledged and boarded door. The framing consists of three square panels high.
