Description

This barn, dating from the 17th century, is located about 25 metres south-east of Old Birchend Farmhouse in Castle Frome. It features a timber-framed construction with a part sandstone plinth that has been replaced with brick. The exterior is clad in weatherboard, with slatted and woven cleft oak infill, and it has a tiled roof. The barn is organized into four bays that run in a north-west to south-east direction, with a central threshing floor. The walls consist of three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate. The interior was inaccessible as of January 1985.
