Description
This barn, dating from the 17th century, is located approximately 30 metres south-south-east of Southfield Farmhouse. It features a timber-framed structure with a sandstone plinth, partially underbuilt with brick. The exterior is clad in weatherboard, with slatted infill and woven cleft oak infill, topped by a tiled roof. The barn consists of five bays arranged east to west, with added lean-tos at the rear. Inside, there is a central threshing floor and an inserted floor in the flanking bays. The design includes three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, collar and tie-beam trusses with inclined struts, and two tiers of purlins. Southfield Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
