Description
The gates, gate piers, railings, and piers located west of Canon Frome Court were constructed in 1905. They feature wrought iron gates and railings, with red brick piers that have ashlar dressings. The central pair of decorative gates has a semi-circular shape with radiating rails at the upper part, flanked by piers that have moulded sandstone bases and capping, along with a plain central band. The left pier has a horse's head finial, while the right pier has a sitting dog finial. Further to the sides, there are plain railings with scrolled upper edges and similar piers topped with large ball finials. The inner piers are inscribed with "J H S" on the left and "1905" on the right. These gates, piers, and railings serve as the western entrance to Canon Frome Court and enhance the view of the Court.
