5/31 Gates and gate piers forming north entrance to Dowdeswell Court

GV II

Gates and gate piers forming north entrance to Dowdeswell Court (q.v.). Mid C19. Ashlar piers, wrought and cast iron gates and railings. Square piers with moulded cappings and ball finials (cappings and finials restored), similar subsidiary piers, linked by railings either side. Double gates with spear-headed uprights and urn finials, foliate decoration to panels at bottom. Single gate right of piers with decorative wrought panels either side. Single gate right of entrance with decorative wrought iron panels either side. Detail similar to churchyard railings (q.v.).
