Description
West End Cottage and Cobblers Cottage is a house that has been divided into two tenements. It dates from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The building features square-panelled timber framing, painted brick, and wattle-and-daub infill, topped with stone slate roofs. It has a rectangular plan with later additions to the east and the rear (north). The house has axial and end stacks and an entrance on the south front.
The building stands two storeys high, with the upper floor jettied at the east end, supported by curved brackets with shafts to the wall posts, and decorated with sand pendants. The south front includes a central gabled section that has two two-light casement windows with C20 glazing bars. The ground floor features one two-light casement window and a pair of two-light windows with decorative glazing, along with another two-light window, all located to the left of a doorway that has a gabled canopy and a ledged door. To the right of the doorway, there is an additional two-light casement window.
