Description

Oak View is a house with a core dating from the 14th or 15th century, which has been extensively altered in the 17th century and further modified in the 20th century. It features square panelled timber-framing set on a sandstone rubble plinth, with painted brick and wattle-and-daub infill, topped by a Welsh slate roof. The building has two framed bays aligned east to west, with gable-end and rear lateral stacks, and the entrance is located on the south front. It is two storeys tall and has two 2-light casement windows, with 3-light windows flanking the entrance, which is accessed through a gabled porch with a ledged door on the ground floor. The interior is reported to retain a central cruck truss from the earlier hall.
