Description

Brick House is a house dating from the 14th or 15th century, with later 19th and 20th-century alterations. The structure features square-panelled timber framing with red brick infill, set upon a sandstone rubble plinth, and has a Bradstone slate roof. The house is arranged with a hall running east to west, encompassing two bays, and a cross-wing to the west. An end stack is present, and the south front features the entrance. The building is single-storied with an attic; the gable end of the cross-wing is on the left side, displaying a jettied upper floor supported by curved brackets. Two-light casement windows are present on both the upper and ground floors. Similar two-light windows flank a part-glazed door to the hall range on the right. The interior retains a cruck truss with decorative members.
