Description
The Pump House is a house dating from the 17th century, which underwent significant alterations in the late 19th century. It features square panelled timber-framing with painted brick infill, some brick refacing, and a sandstone rubble plinth with stacks that have brick shafts. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. The building has an L-plan layout with wings oriented east to west and north to south, and it includes axial stacks. The entrance is located in the north gable end facing the street.
The house has two storeys, with a return wing on the left that has one 16-pane glazing bar sash window on the ground floor. The gable end of the cross-wing to the right features one 2-light and one 3-light casement window. There is a recessed doorway in the brick refacing on the ground floor, which has panelled returns, a moulded surround, and a 6-panelled door with an overlight. To the right of the doorway, there is a 3-light casement window.
