Description

Westfield is a pair of houses, now combined into one, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The house previously known as Westfield features timber framing that is completely rendered with roughcast on a brick plinth, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The rear reveals square panelled timber-framing. It consists of three bays running east to west and has a lateral stack. The building is two storeys high, with two 2-light casement windows on both the first and ground floors. To the left of the entrance, there is a garage entrance, a 4-pane casement window, one 2-light and one 3-light casement window, and to the right of the entrance, there is another 2-light casement window. The entrance has a ledged door and a canopied porch.

The house formerly known as Verndale is from the 16th century. It has square panelled timber-framing with wattle-and-daub infill set on a sandstone rubble plinth, and a tiled roof. This house also has three bays aligned east to west, with a rear lateral stack and an entrance on the south front. It is two storeys tall, featuring an upper jettied floor supported by curved braces with shafts to the wall-posts. The first floor has two 3-light and one 2-light casement window, while the ground floor has three 3-light windows and one 2-light window to the left of the ledged door.
