Description

3 Manor Cottages and South View is a house that has been divided into tenements. It likely dates from the 17th century, although it may have earlier origins, and has been largely altered in the 20th century. The structure is timber-framed with a sandstone plinth and painted brick infill, topped with a stone slate roof. There are 20th-century brick additions at the rear.

The house consists of four framed bays aligned north to south and faces west, with a forward projecting wing attached to the south of the west front. There are 20th-century additions at the rear, a stack at the north gable end, and a lateral stack to the west. Entrances are located on the north side of the west front and in the south gable end.

The building is single storey with an attic, featuring three dormers that have 2-light leaded casements. On the ground floor, there is a square-headed doorway to the left with a ledged door, a pair of 2-light casements to the left, and one to the right of the stack. The gable end of the wing has one 20th-century window, with a pair of leaded 2-light casements below it, and a similar pair of casements to the main house to the right of the wing.
