Description
This outbuilding, located about 20 yards north-east of Upper Limebrook Farmhouse, is likely a haybarn and byre dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed with a timber frame and rendered infill on a rubble base, featuring some weatherboarding and corrugated iron cladding, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The building consists of five framed bays arranged in a north/south direction and is a single level. The framing includes two and three panels from the sill to the wall-plate to accommodate changes in ground levels. The west elevation features four square openings, a blocked opening with an arched head, and a doorway. There is also a timber-framed lean-to addition at the south end. Inside, the roof has been partly altered, with collar and tie-beam end trusses that include struts, as well as mainly intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts.
