Farmhouse. Late C15 or early C16 core with C17 remodelling, altered slightly during C20. Sandstone rubble with part stone slate and part corrugated metal roofs. Irregular plan with earlier building aligned east/west with later addition forming cross-wing at west end and further addition to north side; north lateral stack to earlier section and gable- end stacks to later cross-wing, entrance with east projecting porch in south angle with cross-wing. Single storey with attic to earlier house. Two storeys with attics to cross-wing. South front: gable end of cross- wing to left with two 2-light windows, square-headed opening and narrow loop to porch, 4-centred arched-headed doorway with chamfered jambs with 3-light window and three irregularly spaced doorways to right of porch in earlier section. Interior reveals one visible cruck truss of earlier section and traces of former stone winder staircase against north stack. (RCHM Vol I, p 175).
