Description
The Crown Inn is an inn dated 1751, with alterations made in the late 19th century and 20th century. It is constructed from rendered sandstone rubble and has a Welsh slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan that is aligned east to west, featuring a central entrance on the north side. There are later additions to the east and a further addition to the west, which has a lower roofline, as well as 20th-century additions to the rear.
The inn is two storeys high. The north front has three windows: one glazing bar sash window to the left of the datestone and two 2-light casements to the right. A 20th-century gabled half-glazed porch is flanked by similar 2-light casement windows. To the left of the addition, there is another glazing bar sash window with a larger similar window on the ground floor. The right addition features a 3-light window with French casements, flanked by 2-light casement windows, all under cambered heads on the ground floor. This dated building occupies a prominent position in the village.
