Description
Upper Ponthendre is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with later additions and alterations dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. It is constructed of rendered sandstone rubble with a Welsh slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan, aligned north/south, featuring a main stack backing onto a through-passage, and a further gable-end stack to the south. A gabled projecting porch faces the west front. The farmhouse is single-storey with an attic. The west front has two half-dormers containing sash windows to the left and one to the right, alongside a porch. To the left of the porch are two sash windows, and one further window to the right of the porch, with an inner wooden-framed doorway leading to a ledged door. Internally, the farmhouse retains good chamfered ceiling beams and a stone winder staircase which projects slightly to the rear.
