Description
The Cornewall Arms Public House is an inn, likely built in the 18th century, with some minor alterations from the 20th century. It is constructed of rendered sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, with wings oriented east/west and north/south that join at the west end. It has gable-end stacks and an entrance located at the west gable end. The east/west wing is a single storey with an attic, while the north/south wing has two storeys.
On the entrance elevation, there is a two-light casement window in the gable end of the left wing, with a lean-to porch below and an inner ledged door. To the right, there is another two-light casement window. The north return of the east/west wing features a central dormer window with a six-pane glazing bar sash window, along with two similar sash windows below.
The building is positioned along the southern boundary of the churchyard and is noted for its group value.
