Description

This barn, located about 10 metres north-west of Newton Farmhouse, dates from around 1700. It features a timber frame with some woven infill and weatherboarding, set on a rubble plinth, and has a stone slate roof. The barn consists of four framed bays, with a threshing floor situated in the bay south-west of the centre. The framing includes a square panel above a rectangular panel, and all trusses are supported by two raking struts and a collar.
