Description

The Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, which was remodelled in the early 19th century and restored in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick infill and an extension in painted brick, topped with a machine-tile roof. The building has two framed bays aligned north to south, with an extension to the south. A chimney stack is located on the south gable of the timber-framed section, topped with a brick shaft.

The east front of the house is two storeys high and has two 3-light casement windows. On the ground floor, there are three 20th-century oriel windows, with the one on the right situated in the gable end of a 20th-century porch. The framing includes two square panels high on the first floor, supported by straight angle braces. The north gable truss features three struts to the collar, with a king-post above and trenched purlins.
