Description
Bilbury is an early 18th-century farmhouse that was raised in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof. The building has a T-plan layout, with a cross-wing aligned north to south and a rear wing to the east. There are gable-end stacks on the cross-wing.
The west front has two storeys and the front wall has been raised along with the roof, which includes brick coped verges that are still visible on the rear slope, along with a band. The façade features three windows: two 16-pane sashes on either side of a glazing bar sash, all set under segmental heads. The entrance is slightly to the left of the centre and includes a wooden doorcase with engaged fluted columns, a 3-pane overlight, and a 6-panel door.
Inside, there are some exposed chamfered and stopped ceiling beams. The staircase, dating from the 19th century, has stick balusters. In the south room, the fireplace is flanked by two cupboards with fluted pilasters.
