Description
The Bury is a farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century, although it was rebuilt in the late 18th to early 19th century and restored in the mid-20th century. The structure features a timber frame with rendered infill and a tile roof, along with brick sections that have a hipped slate roof. It has a T-plan layout, with a 19th-century cross-wing aligned east to west and a rear wing to the north that incorporates the original 17th-century frame.
The south front of the building is three storeys high and has boarded eaves. It includes three windows: two three-light casements flanking a two-light casement, all set under segmental heads. The central entrance is framed by a moulded wooden architrave and features a flat stone canopy supported by wrought iron brackets, leading to a four-panel door with the upper two panels glazed. The rear wing showcases a gabled timber-frame section with two square panels high to the first floor. The gable is constructed with two collars, multiple struts, V-struts at the apex, and trenched purlins.
