Description
The Hawthorns is a house dating from the 17th century, with an early 19th-century extension and some alterations from the mid-20th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a brick tile roof. The timber-framed section on the left has two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by casement windows in two 19th-century gablets. There are three windows on the upper floor, all 2-light casements, and on the ground floor, there are two square bay windows. The framing consists of three square panels high with straight angle braces. The right-hand brick section is also two storeys tall, with a dentilled brick cornice and gable end stacks. It has two windows, both 4-pane boxed sashes; the ground floor features a 4-pane boxed sash under a segmental head to the left and a square bay window to the right. The entrance is located through a brick lean-to on the left-hand gable.
