Description
This building is a barn and stables, likely dating from the 18th century, with later alterations. It features sandstone rubble gables and plinth, along with weatherboarded timber-frame construction. The roof is made of Welsh slate. The structure consists of five structural bays arranged in a north-north-east to south-south-west orientation and has two levels.
On the east elevation, there are central opposed full-height ledged doors, with two stable doors in the plinth on either side. The upper level is weatherboarded. Attached to the right side is a lower stable, also weatherboarded. Inside, the building has trusses with queen struts that rise from interrupted tie-beams, and collars that carry angle struts. The wall-frame is constructed of thin scantling, featuring one row of tall rectangular panels above the plinth.
