Description
This building is a barn and stable, likely dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth, a weatherboarded timber frame, and a roof made of Welsh slate. The structure has a rectangular four-bay plan oriented north-west to south-east and consists of two levels.
On the south-west elevation, there are three ledged doors for loft access, with two doors on the left and one on the right of the gable entry, which has full-height two-leaved ledged doors. The gable also includes nine nesting holes arranged in three rows of three. The ground floor has a square opening to the left of the stable entry and two-leaved garage doors on the right. Inside, the barn features trusses with two pairs of parallel V-struts connecting the ties to the principals. This building is included for its group value with Paytoe Hall.
