Description

The Mill is a water mill that has been converted into a house and store. It likely dates from the 18th to early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building features a timber frame, brick squared sandstone, sandstone rubble, and dressings. It has a brick exterior topped with a Welsh slate roof and a brick stack. The structure has a rectangular three-bay plan oriented west-south-west to east-north-east, with a north/south arm at the west end. It stands three storeys tall.

On the south elevation, there are two windows, each with 2-light casements that have cambered heads. The ground floor includes a sandstone plinth with two 2-light openings to the right of a stable door, and to the left is a late 20th-century glazing bar casement and an early 20th-century external brick stack. At the west end, there is an attached brick-cased timber-framed arm that has exposed framing on the north gable. Inside, remnants of the mill apparatus can be found, including a drive shaft from a missing water wheel. The trusses feature king posts with pairs of raking struts extending from the ties to the principals. The brick-cased timber-framed wing attached to the west is not considered of special interest.
